Photo Comparison · Last updated 6 September 2026
The short version. Photo Comparison has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It never sends your photos anywhere. Everything it stores stays on your iPhone, in the app's own private storage.
What the app stores
Photos you add to Photo Comparison are saved inside the app's own private storage on your device, along with the date each photo was taken and a small thumbnail used to draw the grid.
These photos are not added to your camera roll. A photo you take with the in-app camera goes straight into the app and never appears in the Photos app.
What the app sends
Nothing. Photo Comparison makes no network requests. There is no server to send anything to.
There is one thing you should know, though, and it is about your iPhone rather than about this app.
Your iPhone's own backup includes this app's photos. If you have iCloud Backup switched on — most iPhones do by default — then the photos in Photo Comparison are part of that encrypted backup, the same as the rest of your app data.
That is your phone backing itself up. It is not this app sending anything. If you would rather that did not happen, you can turn iCloud Backup off in the iOS Settings app.
No tracking, no accounts
- No analytics and no crash reporting.
- No advertising and no tracking of any kind.
- No third-party SDKs.
- No account, no sign-up, no password, no email address collected.
Face ID, Touch ID and your passcode
If you turn on the app lock, iOS handles the check. Photo Comparison asks iOS whether it is you, and iOS answers yes or no. The app never sees your face, your fingerprint or your passcode, and none of that is stored anywhere by the app.
The camera
The camera is used for one thing: taking a progress photo into the app. That photo is written straight to the app's private storage. It does not go to your camera roll.
You are asked for camera permission the first time. If you say no, the rest of the app works normally and you can still add photos from your photo library.
Deleting photos
Deleting a photo in Photo Comparison removes it from your device. The app keeps no copy, no trash and no undo — once it is deleted in the app, it is gone from the app for good.
Deleting the app removes every photo in it.
Neither of those reaches into a backup you already made. If a device backup was taken while a photo was still in the app, that backup still contains it until it is replaced by a newer one.
Children
Photo Comparison collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
